Mert Yucel Yardimci received his PhD degree from Dokuz Eylul University Izmir-Turkey in 2008. He worked as PostDoc in Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) as an assistant professor in Karaelmas, Gediz and Istanbul Okan Universities in Turkey. He is currently working in an ERC Advanced Grant Project- SmartCast “Smart casting of concrete structures by active control of rheology” as a PostDoc with Prof. De Schutter's research group in Magnel Laboratory for Concrete Research at Ghent University. He also partly works in InterAct project in a PostDoc position. His main research interests include rheology and the hardened state properties of cementitious materials.
Serdar Aydin
PostDoc Researcher
Serdar Aydın received his PhD degree from Dokuz Eylul University (DEU) Izmir-Turkey in 2010. He has been working at the Construction Materials Division of the Civil Engineering Department of DEU as associate professor position since 2014. He works in InterAct project in a PostDoc position. His main research interests are alkali-activated materials, durability of concrete and ultra-high performance concretes.
Xiaodi Dai

Magnel Laboratory for Concrete Research, Department of Structural Engineering

The Magnel Laboratory for Concrete Research, is a well-known and leading research institute worldwide, actively contributing to research progress in the field of concrete structures and concrete technology. Research topics are ranging from the microstructural level (like hydration studies) to the large scale structural level. In this way, materials studies can be duly combined with structural studies, enabling a thorough understanding of the behavior. During the last decades, Prof. G. De Schutter has been guiding many research projects related to new types of concrete, like self-compacting concrete (SCC) and ultra-high performance concrete. Rheology of cementitious materials has become increasingly important during the last years. By fundamentally studying the underlying mechanisms controlling rheology, a better understanding of the behaviour of the fresh cementitious materials is aimed for.
